Last year I attended one of the best weddings I have been to on Daydream Island and only a couple of weeks ago a group of us went to Daydream Island for a girl’s weekend. A couple of months ago a girlfriend came up with the idea that we needed a girl’s weekend away and as both of us that had stayed at Daydream Island before we thought why not make this our destination again.

We stayed 2 nights flying up on the Friday from Brisbane arriving on Daydream Island around 4pm where we then made our way to our rooms. We stayed in Coral Ocean Balcony rooms, one word for these rooms “stunning” they had breathtaking ocean views with hammocks situated between palm trees just outside our rooms.

One of the girls called the island before arriving and organised a cheese platter and some wine to be placed in the rooms for us to enjoy on arrival, this was a perfect way to start our weekend away and to enjoy the views. Friday evening we dined at Mermaids Restaurant, the food was sensational. My entree was 4 seafood dish, consisting of Soft shell crab, Salmon, Prawns and Scallops followed by a Duck on soft polenta with cherry jus main course and a Frangelico Crème Brulee for desert, every meal was delicious and the service was fantastic.

We then completed the evening by going down to the bar and watched the live music, they called themselves Bali Boys. Saturday we had a fun and relaxing day planned. We started off by us all having breakfast together, then after breakfast had settled down and we watched the free fish feeding show at the Living Reef. We then went and hired snorkelling gear and went to Lovers Cove to snorkel, it was fantastic with so many fish.

After snorkelling some of us booked in Parasailing, this was at first scary (I may not like heights so much) but after I was up there it was the best view of Daydream and the rest the Whitsundays, this is a must do when you go. We then all went to our pre-booked spa treatment (a good idea to pre-book), were I enjoyed an hour massage, just what I needed.

For the Saturday night we pre-arranged a private dinner at the Spa Balcony, we had a 3 course dinner with a private waiter and sparkling wine. We couldn’t have been happier with the meals, service and set-up of the venue for the private dinner, our goal of the girls weekend was to have a unforgettable time with amazing food, wine, activities, relaxation and laughter and we had all of this over the 2 nights we stayed at Daydream Island – I can highly recommend it.
